I was watching this show Young Fabulous and Broke that was hosted by Suze Orman It was a discussion on savings/financial advice for the younger crowd 30 and under....
I agreed with everything except she even said to use Credit cards for expenses...... While yes some of us may need to use a credit card to get groceries occasionally... I think it has to start sooner... Like while a person is in college work summers to start paying off loans if you have them... this will help in the long run... |

| I really like Suze Orman. I didn't see the show you were talking about but I usually watch late night on a saturday night. I also don't agree with EVERYTHING she says, but most of it is good solid advice (imho). |

There appear to be several fans of Suze Orman on this board. Perhaps it's because of my location, but I have never heard of her.
Any links or websites I could look at for some of her work? |

We use our rewards Credit Cards to pay for EVERYTHING. It took a little while to get used to seeing those big bills come in every month but we just put the money aside and pay everything off in full. We pay no interest and get up to 5% back on purchases.
Suze appears on CNBC every Saturday night. Very practical information that is easy for the layperson to understand. Even if you're not young and fabulous or broke. |

On comcast cable see is on almost every night... I enjoy listenting to her but after you watch several shows you realize it is her concepts that really drive through....
First only take on good debt (debt that will make you money EX house)
Pay off any debt you have.
Pay yourself first Take advantage of company match.
If you must use credit cards use wise puchases
Wise- buy a suit for job interview or to fix you car to get to work
Bad- dinner with friends, new shoes when you have good pair in the closet. |

| Has anyone here reduced their debt by using her advice. It sounds great and all but is it easy to put into to practice. I fall into this "young , fabulous and broke category" and I think is it will be difficult to change my ways over night. |

I used to think change was difficult, too. And it can be, if you are left on your own to figure out how to make it happen. Too often, authors present lots of great systems for managing money, while leaving the readers with no way to make the changes necessary to actually implement those plans.
Take a look at a book by T. Harv Eker, called 'Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth'. Like many before him, Harv points out what is holding you back, and in the book, that is about where it stops. However, when you buy the book, you also get two tickets to his seminar, 'Millionaire Mind Intensive'. At the seminar, you will go through the processes that will allow you to change your mind, your relationship to money, your very 'financial blueprint' that has determined your financial success, or the lack thereof, for your entire life.
After attending the seminar, I am able to read books by Suze Orman, or Dave Ramsey, or any of a host of others, that offer a financial strategy, and instead of wishing I could do it, I can begin implementing it right away! It was not always so easy. Going to 'Millioinaire Mind' was the greatest experience of my life. Never have I learned so much, had so much fun, and made so many DRASTIC changes to my mental programming! This is NOT just a rehash of the material in the book! The seminar provides the tools to totally remake your financial blueprint, to make it the way you WANT it to be, not the way it always has been.
So, was it overnight? Well, I changed my thinking about money in the 3 days of the seminar. Am I out of debt? Not yet, but it has only been a month since the seminar, and already I have a plan in place, and I am actually working to implement it! 'Millionaire Mind Intensive' has given me the tools to run my brain the way *I* want to, and has allowed me to plot a financial course for the future that goes where I want to go. And, best of all, the new programming functions *automatically*, just like the old, junky programming it replaced!
On a scale of 1-10:
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth
rating: 7
Millionaire Mind Intensive
rating: 10+
In short, attending 'Millioinaire Mind Intensive' will give you what no book I have ever read can give you--the opportunity, and the tools, to change your mental programming. For the price of the book, you can experience, almost literally overnight, the mind of a millionaire. |
