welcome kaizen i'm just learning about this site too! so,
i'm not up to speed on everything wInvesting.com. but in my own opinion this site appears to be an ongoing process in that you will have direct interaction with the developers of this site on a regular basis. each time you check this site the possibility is that something new just may well be made available to you. |

hey guys, I dind't want to start a new thread to introduce myself so I'm hijacking this one Anwyays, I live in Southern California and work as a computer tech. My brother is an active trader who's trying to get me to play the market. I'm practicing on a couple of simulators (actually three, now that I'm a member here) BTW, at one of these simulators if I go to buy it wants me to select a "position" long or short, now is also showing me a third one called cover. What the heck are these things? I've looked throught their faq and there wasn't any explanation. |

Long is a "normal" stock buy. You're buying the stock expecting it to go up, and will sell it later. "Short" is the opposite... you're selling the stock first and plan to buy it later on, after it goes down. You "cover" your shorts once you've see the stock decline. |
