I have returned a very good percentage so far this year but I also want to preface that with the fact that the market has been going up and up and up so far.

I have two accounts. 1 is for my son and I am ultra conservative with it. I want him to have some money when he gets older so its 75% in something that pays a dividend. The other 25% is in a gamble. Like dphiq. He made some got out and moved on.

My account on the other hand is up & down, mostly down. I tend not to try the things I would try on this game.

What type of rules would you recommend for a guy that has a little extra time to start investing on his own?
