THE GIZMONDO console, after a slow start, is due to be released in the UK on the 19th of March.
This puts it a little over a week after the release of the new Nintendo DS console in the UK. Its other rival, the Sony PSP, isn't expected in the UK market for months yet.
The Gizmondo is powered by Nvidia GoForce hardware, which the chaps in green say will give it graphics power equivalent to the original PlayStation. It also packs GPS hardware for location aware computing, as well as GPRS and SMS capabilities for wireless data anywhere.
The last time we walked down London's famed Regent Street, a dedicated Gizmondo store was advertising for sales staff. It looks like they will have to get them trained faily sharpish. |
