So I have about 3k only in my fidelity 401k. I'm 25 years old.
I just checked it and it was in a bond earning about 3%.
I moved it to a stock that was showing 16% ytd.
They limit you on the choices and everything, but I think there was 15 or 20 stocks and other funds. You just put whatever % next to it to allocate it.
Should I spread it around or is having it in one ok for now? Do 401k funds like this ever really do that badly or go broke? |

WOW, I guess all that begging (and encyclopedic posting) chronic lying (I mean how much of a 401k could a college student that got reprimanded by one of his peers for unethical posting really have?) finally paid off, look at you now . No, hard feelings but, lets try to keep it real OK. Congratulations, it feels good to be at the top of your game, doesn't it? |

Wow, where are you from, poornewb. He's supposedly talking about a different year get it? Lots of people lost big then....Unfortunately I don't think he's one of them but, he may have been. |

| There is plenty of information available on the WWW about how to diversify. I have found a good rule of thumb to be 10% Large Cap Value, 15% Mid-cap Value, 10% small cap value, 10% Large Cap Growth, 10% Mid Cap Growth, 10% Small Cap growth, 10% REIT, and 25% International Value to be right for me at my stage of life. |
