There is talk shabbang had an illegal trade but the trading police seem to be keeping it at bay. So there may be more changes to the standings.

Shabbang though extends their lead.

After 2 days 4% separates the remaining top 5.

More changes to the game. (Trade Hours)
We'll see how only daytrading effects the standings going forward.

Here is what I got in my inbox

Quote:
Your Gap stock purchase was made after hours. We'll have to delete that trade.

-Admin

It seems that I did make the trade after hours. This I do not deny.

The trade was not done to be a harmful one to any of my fellow players.

It was the cheapest gold stock ( BGO ) that I could buy a lot of with the limited funds available.

So I ASSUMEd it was like any other after hours trade in the way it would take effect the next day during trading hours.

My apologies.

It looks like my trade is going to be voided. Thats o.k. I still have the rest of the month to try and come back.

I've said my peace.

Good luck to all.

Thanks Shabbang...hopefully trading only when the market is open will fix some of these unrealistic gains.

It was a nice pick anyway though.

My apologies.

At the time you made your trade the simulator would allow you to trade at the "last known" quote value provided by Yahoo, and you could trade at any time during the day. It seems that's where your confusion came in, and I apologize for that. We have added code as of today that will prevent trades from taking place outside of normal market hours.

What happened, and it sounds like purely an accident, is you purchased stock before the market opened, and the stock "gapped up" quite substantially once trading began. Whether there was news on the stock or not, you benefited from a trade that you could not have made in the real world. Thus the message about it being invalid.

The stock market is a complex animal. Smile We are working towards making the simulator here the best you can find anywhere, so your patience is appreciated. The next big change will allow you to place your order in "after hours" but the trade will go into the queue and be executed once the market is open. You will be able to use limit or market orders. In short, it will be much more realistic, and hopefully more useful to those that are using it to try out trading strategies.

Halfway through Friday and here are the standings.

blackfoxtrade +8.37%

junsta17 +4.05%

shabbang +4.03%

chahsiubow +2.67%

Supersquid +2.26%

Pretty close race, but BlackFoxTrade seems to be pulling away. I believe he is from Estonia. What do they know there we don't know here?

They only day trading rule with no .'s or pennies or >$2 stocks seems to be keeping this a closer race. 8% in 5 days legitimately is a great gain!

End of week one standings:

jrok31 +23.34%

chahsiubow +21.28%

Grimreaper +6.96%

shabbang +4.41%

Supersquid +4.29%

Lots of changes in the standings today. Then jrok and chahsiubow jumped out on top we believe holding BIDU. The stock of the week it seems.

1st and 2nd are very close, but 15% difference isn't a lot as we've seen.

And I am in the RED!!! Crying or Very sad

The two leaders have come down a bit, but so has the rest of the field. We'll see how this week progresses and if the leaders % continues to shrink.

Looks like we have a race brewing!

chahsiubow +10.34%

jrok31 +7.60%

Grimreaper +6.01%

thriller +4.32%

blackfoxtrade +2.44%

The gap in the top 5 is WAY down. Enter a new shooter, thriller (any relation to thrilla?) and shabbang has fallen off the list.

Well I have too much of my play money in a single stock here at EI, and if I am wrong as it reaches a very critical juncture like it is right now, I seriously doubt I will have much luck in catching up for awhile Embarassed but if I am correct about my assumption I seriously doubt anyone will catch me Razz I hope everybody is havin as much fun as I is! Very Happy
