This isn't realistic investing advice, but in einvesting.com land, it seems beneficial: put all of your eggs in one basket. Diversification hedges your gains.

Well I think einvesting.com land is catered to "day traders" (I learned that word last month, hehe.) In this case its more like month trading.

I think diversifying your portfolio is more for long term investments.

But I dunno, I just started this game.

If you want to make a run at the top of the charts, then you can't diversify. Its simply not possible to have a half-dozen or more stocks return 40% in a month.
Treat this as day trading if you want, or use a longer time frame for yourself if you want.

To be able to make a good return % and be on top you have to pick only one or two stocks.

It's true, if you trying to learn to invest for the long term you probably shouldn't strive to win the portfolio percentage game. But we do keep your purchase prices in there so, if anything, YOU know how your doing. Wink

Im reminded of that 80's movie War Games. At the end the computer says, "The only way to win is not to play."

Not play stocks at all, but when I get nervous and start making a lot of moves it usually ends up biting me in the rear. There is something to Day Trading and I aim to figure it out.
