I think it has to do with the stability of the company or they did something wrong.

You can trade stocks with dots; just don't enter the dot and extension when entering the symbol on your broker site. An example, to get a pink sheet quote off of Yahoo Finance, I enter VCYI.PK, if I want to enter a buy order on Scottrade, I just enter VCYI

If this doesn't work for you then call your broker.

Not sure but if you mean the sim it's because they change alot, become delisted and are almost always under $2. Too high maintenance.

perhaps my question isn't clear enough. I understand stocks with dots can be traded. however I cannot trade them on einvesting! go ahead try it yourself. It will give you an option to buy the number of stocks, and then it just won't go on to the next page.

'aspn' is no longer valid. It has changed to ASPN.OB

If you had ASPN before it changed I would change it to ASPN.OB in the database. Since it has a dot in it now though you cannot purchase it new.

A bit about .OB from Investopedia:

Quote:

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/o/otcbb.asp

Over The Counter Bulletin Board - OTCBB

A regulated electronic trading service offered by the National Association of Security Dealers (NASD) that shows real-time quotes, last-sale prices, and volume information for over-the-counter (OTC) equity securities. An OTC security generally is not listed or traded on any other national securities exchange including the NASDAQ. OTC securities include national, regional and foreign equity issues, warrants, units, American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) and Direct Participation Programs (DPPs). If a stock trades on the OTCBB, it will end with ".OB".

The truth is, OTC-BB stocks are relatively not large or stable and are considered very risky. As a result, very few OTC-BB stocks are successful in making the jump from this market to the NASDAQ or any other major exchange due to their inability to meet the listing requirements of the major exchanges. Also, because OTCBB stocks tend to trade infrequently, the bid-ask spread is larger.
