I justed started college and had some summer cash so instead of watching interest in my bank account give me a penny a year, i took all of my money and i am now a member of Scottrade and am doing much better for myself than some bank could ever do for me. I was told about this place by a friend and i am very anxious to learn much from all of the investors apart of this great website.
Thank you

Well i had my first economic class in high school my senior year, and my teacher which i respect very much, helped me realize all of the oppurtunities out there for young investors. I started to go and talk to him about my plans and investment strategies and came to realize as long as i did my research about a company before i invested and tried to know ever knook and cranny maybe i wouldn 't do to bad. Not only that but i really enjoy having the power of what i do with my money and how i think is the best way i can spend or invest it. When i firsted started out i talked to a lot of people and most of the comments i got was either they laughed because i was only eighteen or they told me it wasn't worth it because i don't have more than a 1,000 dollars to invest. So it kind of gave me a feeling that there are a lot of people that underestimate the knowledge of a young kid, so in some ways it became a challenge for me, and not to mention i have a great family that backs up my efforts and even takes the time to shoot me new ideas about what might take off, even though they don't invest. My mom gave me the idea of ISRG which is a robotics surgical company that after the research has become my number one investment. So i think overall i like the risk, challenge, power, and ability to get up in the morning see my money and where it is going and at any time get out or get in. Along with that i would rather take the risk of lossing some money but be able to make it back three folds, and to me it is better than letting it sit in some bank only collecting dust and pennies every year.
