Ya, I did a little research, and found a good explanation at:
http://www.hyipinvestment.com/whatishyip.php
Its an interesting concept, but I think I will stay away from it until it becomes a little bit more secure, and not so many scammers and spammers. Letting the market develop a little bit, and then hopefully I can hit it rich! |

Ive looked at a few programs and they look like TOTAL B.S.
Plus, you never know when its some scammer who is planning to ditch after he gets a nice lump in his bank account.
Im not gonna touch these with a stick for awhile... |

I consider most hyips to be basically gambling: gambling if I get in soon enough to recoup my initial spend and then go on with "their" money. That seems to be the sum and substance of the hyip arena in general.
That being said, there are some good programs out there, but you have to seek them out and be an avid reader of the general hyip forums. Anything paying over 2% per day is a sure-fire ponzi, and most that pay less than that are ponzis as well.
Now, you can make money in a ponzi.
TalkGold is good to some extent. Just stay away from the referral/spam threads. LOL
I'm a moderator at Gold-Horizons.com, a general hyi forum. We don't allow referral urls to be posted, or spam. A lot of people will post urls to new hyip that they find, and then we "tear 'em up" to try to see if they'll "work."
I invite you to come and see us sometime.
Regards,
Terri |

The problem with many of the HYIP programs is their referral schemes. The only way you can really make money is through generating a large number of referrals.
Naturally this leads to spamming on a fairly high scale.
I will most likely "test" a new program out with a small amount of money.
Build up my money, and withdraw my initial investment.
Playing around with money I didn't expect to have I'm okay with, and if I end up losing $10 then no problem. |

Consider it done. Decided if I was going to test, why not test a few key areas or types of these programs.

| Problem i have seen with most HYIP programs as stated they rely on refferals and you can only transfer money through overseas accounts liek E-gold etc... note that none of them will setup a withdrawl from paypal or you checking...This alone tells me to stay away as many of these the only reason they pay out money is due to new signups meaning pyramid scheme. |

Absolutely agree. The internet is full of pyramid shemes or ponzi setups.
But many of the HYIP sites have started to stick around for longer and longer and new ones are starting up with a more educated approach to long term growth. I'm willing to put in a few bucks, and the worst that can happen is that we as a new investing community can have a reference point to work from. |

| They are known scams, stay as far away from these things as you can. A rule of thumb in investing, and life, is if it sounds too good to be true... it is. |
