based on a real event,
There once was a man who worked at a factory, he was humble and kept to himself, pretty much a man's man, or a good guy. The coworkers started hearing rumors about this guy, asking if he knew something, or why did he keep to himself. the scientific mysteries were infinite.
Then one day a clever bunch of them happened together as the man was leaving work one day and stopped him saying, "hey come over here, we want to ask you a question."
"Is there something you know, like a theory of everything, or something that you can tell us?"
Sort of confused the man asks them to raise their hands if they even understand what a theory of everything means.
None of them raise their hands.
The man says good now I don't have to tell you the theory of everything because none of you will understand it anyway.
The Next day the group decides to raise their hands when asked that same question, but instead the man replies "Good then if you raised your hand you already know and I don't have to tell you."
So after some thinking to themselves his coworkers decided if he knows the theory of everything that half of them should raise their hands and half should not. So the very next day; the man says "Good so the half of you that raised your hands tell the theory of everything to the half of you who didn't raise your hands."
The man then walked out the door, convinced that he had actually known the theory of everything.

Ya' know buddy, it thought it most unusual (and timely) that you should post what you did. I'm currently involved in exploring a peer to peer lending site, and making small loans at a reasonable return.
In that process, I stumbled over a posting from guy who needed less than $2000. A recently divorced dad that was trying to get his new place ready for the kids to come for the 1st time.
The posting was not well written, so I e-mailed him through the site and suggested some improvements. We twixed back and forth a couple of times, and come to find out....he's a pretty important guy. I saw his work web site, and he's a law partner in a fairly good sized firm.
So here's this dumb country boy giving advice to someone that graduated from Rutgers. Talk about feeling like an idiot! I suspect he was just doing research for a piece on the Web Site. (He's a published writer as well, he sent me some of his newspaper clippings).
So yeah, never think you know everything. Humility lessons can me most embarassing Even OLD dogs need refresher lessons now and then |
