hi there
I see that after a five day stint of being low, finally European stocks were seen rising after good economic data came in from the US. The Conference Board's gauge of the economic outllok in the US advanced 1.2 percent after revising to 1.1 percent in April.
A report from the Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank revealed a contraction in June but less than what was expected in the manufacturing industry in the US. This news brought a revolution and thus stocks in Europe rose.
I think this situation will continue for next week as well.
What do you think about European stocks being higher or lower for next week? |

Greetings.
I'm not that optimistic about european stocks being up. At elast consistently.
The last prediction publicised today (24/06/2009) expects 2009 as worst than the previous numbers, going around -4,9% of growth and for next year the predictions are still of a slight contraction of european economy.
With unemployment at an all time high and budget dificits for the european economies going sky rocket, I don't think we should expect a good performance of european stock ...

yes true !! But for me there is some where a positive side for European stocks and I feel that they would rose soon. And yes regarding unemployment rate, US unemployment rate is affecting everything. I think it takes time, but aah Yes...will surely end up positive for Europe |

Greetings.
I explained myself poorly in my previous post. I failed to say that in the next future, during the next 6 months or so, the stock market in Europe will not grow steadly, for the reasons I pointed out.
For the next year, yes, I believe it will start to raise again, as long the economy will be back on track slowly. I believe that only in 2011 we will have a good economic growth in european economy.
To conclude my thoughts, I think this is the time to invest if you have the money and the will to wait. Stocks will not go down the values they are now, so you are for a nice profit if you can hold your paper for about 2 years.
Sorry again for my bad explanation on my opinions.
Regards,
Antonio |

hi there
thats ok .....no problem in making explanations after all stockmarket is all about different speculations and different perceptions. you had different perception regarding european markets than what I had...the only difference is I had a positive outlook on it
but we see that yesterday the european stocks were down as recent surveys in the Atlantic and China left investors worried about an economic recovery worldwide. |

Greetings.
The numbers made public yesterday regarding european economies state that this year german economy will perform under the already low expectations, with a cut around the 6% on GDP, which is an enormous value, considering the size and importance of that country.
Considering that germans are the engine of european economy, I don't believe that europe will be out of the depression before next year.
However, if US economy starts to recover still in 2009, we can see the european companies with strong investments in the US to have better than expected results, which will allow them to outperform the overal economy.
We really need to wait and see, for a while. And check those companies undervalued
