I can tell you what Grim is doing and it is what you all should be doing right now!

Glad i'm not the only one spouting the time is now to get your self prepared.
I have enough food for a year possibly longer if the meals are rationed, the water? berkly has a great water purifier and gasoline/diesel im working on right now...
Staggs: don't forget to check those arms and make sure when the time comes for inspection you give them f****rs the register'd ones and keep the other ones barried, well oiled and vacum packed.
When they show up they wan't the ones you registered.

I'm saying...how are you realistically store enough food and water for one person let alone a family? Sure would take up alot of space, you'd need some awesome arms to protect a warehouse full of in demand supplies...  |

Well depending on what you store- like rice, beans, canned food, and plenty of water-- then it shouldn't that hard. I'm sure most have enough room in their pantry or basement.
As to the weapons, let anyone come and try to take my legally acquired, registered weapons. Believe me, I'd let them have them, or at least the ammo that I bought for them. I really don't see anyone thinking they could get away with that. |

Just as you said " a portion of the basement is set up for doom and gloom"
The idea is to have it if the time should ever arise + you know you can always hunt something down from time to time to offset possibly a shortage.
Well i'm sorry to say eamoses that if you acquired those "LEGALLY"
then those weapons were only given to you with implied permission of the alleged 'STATE/COUNTRY" you live in and are totally revokeable whenever your state so decides.
Once again look to Katrina to see what the "Jack booted thugs" were doing when the people were crying for help, going door to door taking guns...

I'm not comfortable with just 6 months of supply but hopefully during that time I can eat a squirrel or catch a rabbit to supplement my rations. Trust me I continue to build my stores. |

This is definately one of my top concerns. I would rather be the one protecting then being the one that is pilaging. |

I still need to get a water purifier. I have one registered hand gun, guess I can kiss that baby goodbye.  It's probably hard to buy a gun these days without having it registered. Maybe a gun show/flea market or something. Pretty sad the criminals will be the only ones armed when things get hairy. Sad thing is even if you have firearms that are not registered the only safe place to hide one would be to bury it, considering all of the technology they have these days.  |

ok here's a good idea... hide said "former legal weapons" , file a police report and claim them stolen... now you are off the hook for them, and get insurance to write you a check...
i'm guessing bow and arrow will still be legal to hunt with, if so then you could still hunt for food. |

That is not for me. I'm sure some people would or have done this but it's to much to risk for something that might happen. Good idea though. |

Really? I think its good. Its about time our system had a smackdown. It continues to show proof of the mockery of what the stock market truly is. Lehman executives anyone? Still taking millions in bonuses while they ran it into the ground. Enron should have been a bigger wakeup call. Its likely to get much worse. Anyone wanna put down odds on the Market dropping to 8,500? I didnt think it would ever get to this. So what do I know? Nothing, lol....
People who didnt overleverage their lives, are going to be sitting pretty when all is said and done 2 or 3 years from now. |

Vetelmo- I couldn't agree more! If you look at the long term historical charts, we are WAY out of line STILL! Only when 401k's etc get involved in the market did prices start drastically climbing. Now, folks have gotten a wake up call that 10% growth year after year is just not sustainable. Lots of dollars chasing a limited number of stocks WILL raise prices. Supply and Demand. But when the folks wake up and realize that a company is NOT worth 30,40, or 50 times earnings (or worse) THEN they see the light....and the market starts regaining reality.
I too believe we can easily see 8500. Not tomorrow or the next day....but sooner than most would like. Meantime, my two "paid cash but ugly" cars are doing fine, my "pay it off EVERY month" VISA doesn't hurt a bit, and my home that we squeaked and saved for that now has a 50% mortgage (even after the down turn in prices) still keeps me warm and dry. For years many have turned up their noses....but I notice they have nose bleeds now.
Life is full of choices....Choices have consequences.
As for weapons, bullets, etc....if it goes that far, do we really want to fight/die for foodstuffs? I think someone's been watching too many "In the future" movies. |

deployment of China’s elite People's Armed Police (PAP) under an
agreement signed between the United States and China, and as we had
previously reported on in our September 20th report “US Homeowners Soon
To Be Evicted By Chinese Police Under New Law”, have arrived in America
and begun to deploy to protect Chinese assets in this now insolvent
First-World country.
Unbeknownst to the American people, however, is that since September
20th, the $700 billion bailout bill signed into law by their President
yesterday was expanded from its original 3 pages to a 451 page virtual
novel of new laws virtually enslaving them to the foreign holders of
their debt.
Even more disturbing, these reports continue, are that these new laws
not only give Chinese and European banks control over the mortgage debt
of the American people, they now include their credit card balances, and
which virtually the entire US populace have indebtedness to.
To how utterly chilling this new US law for the American people, titled
the “Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008”, Russian legal
experts point out in these reports that:
“Section 101 (a)(1) establishes what is termed the Troubled Asset Relief
Program (TARP) to which substantial portions of what the American people
currently owe to their banks and financial institutions is to be turned
over the US Government for redistribution to foreign banks.
Section 101(c)(3) Designates for the first time in American history
these foreign banks as financial agents of Federal Government with full
law enforcement authority over the citizens in the US.
Section 3 (b) allows the US Secretary of the Treasury to put any kind of
debt, including credit card, home loans, personal loans, automobile
loans, etc., into the TARP programme.
Section 112 allows the US Secretary of the Treasury to astoundingly
extend financing to foreign banks to purchase the debt of the American
people.
Section 112 (1)(a) allows the US Government to hold stocks in companies
for the first time in their history and which completely destroys the
capitalist economy of their Nation.
Section 119 (2)(a) gives the US Secretary of the Treasury dictatorial
powers not reviewable by courts making this position the most powerful
one in America.
Section 122 increases the US public debt to the incredible amount of
$11,315,000,000,000 (Trillion)
Section 204 puts the United States under emergency economic rule and
states, "all provisions of this Act are designated as an emergency
requirement and necessary to meet emergency needs”.
But, these reports warn, the two most chilling measures put into this
new law are titled “Section 511 "Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental
Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008” and “TITLE II-SPECIAL
PROJECTS ON FEDERAL LAND Section 201”.
The new mental health provisions contained in these new laws allows the
United States to label dissident citizens as being ‘mentally ill’, and
the ‘Special Projects’ section allows for the reimbursement to US cities
and counties for the building of concentration camps for these mentally
ill dissidents.
The fear of the United States Government against their dissidents is
becoming more evident as many of them are beginning to sound the alarm
of events to come, and as we can see evidenced by one such report from
the SteveQuale.Com website:
“THERE IS STRONG INDICATION THAT A "BANK HOLIDAY" UNDER A DECLARATION
OF AN ECONOMIC EMERGENCY MAY BE DECLARED IN THE U.S. SOMETIME WITHIN

THE INFORMATION INDICATES THAT IT MAY BE ANNOUNCED TO LAST A WEEK OR TWO

WILL SIMPLY ACCEPT THESE MATTERS, BUT THE BANKS AND FINANCIAL
INSTITUTIONS WILL BE HEAVILY GUARDED WHETHER OVERTLY VISIBLE OR NOT.
IF RIOTS OR CIVIL UPHEAVAL BREAK OUT, WHICH OF COURSE WOULD BE EXPECTED
IN MANY LOCALES, THEN YOU WILL SEE TROOPS, LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS,
SWAT TEAMS, PRIVATE SECURITY CONTRACTORS, AND EVEN FEDERALLY AUTHORIZED
U.S. GOVERNMENT, STATE GOVERNMENT, AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT WORKERS
OPERATING UNDER THE REGIONAL MILITARY GOVERNORS OR FEMA CONTINUTITY OF
GOVERNMENT CONTROLLERS TO ATTEMPT TO PUT DOWN THE RIOTS AND UPHEVAL WITH
SANCTIONED ANY FORCE NECESSARY.
FULL IMPLEMENTATION OF ALL 500 + EXECUTIVE ORDERS AND PRESIDENTIAL
DECISION DIRECTIVES ALREADY EXTANT AFTER THE 911 ATTACKS PROMPTED THEIR
INVOCATION BY THE PRESIDENT, PLUS ANY STANDING ORDERS UNDER FEMA COG
PLANS OR MILITARY PLANS UNDER THE CURRENT VERSIONS OF "REX 84"

Not just to US dissident websites either are these warnings being
issued, and as we can read:
“The next day, the Los Angeles Times, in an article on the Senate
passage of the bailout measure, noted in passing a statement by
Democratic Rep. Brad Sherman from the San Fernando Valley in Southern
California which underscores the authoritarian atmosphere surrounding
the proceedings in Congress.
Sherman, who voted against the bailout bill on Monday, said, “The one
thing that’s been proven is the absolute fear-mongering that’s being
used to drive us is false.” He continued, “I’ve seen members turn to
each other and say if we don’t pass this bill, we’re going to have
martial law in the United States.”
Though it is not in our knowing to the know the full outcome of these
events we can state what is plainly evident, the Untied States of
America as it was originally founded is now gone, forever. |
