Sharebuilder gives a limited stocks to chose from- usually called house stocks. People love the idea, but since the can not select the stocks they want, it makes sharebuilder unattractive to investers.
Scottrade is a discount invest firm- you can invest in whatever you like commodities, mutual funds, stock and type of investments ( see borker for more details). |

then you must like their choices for stocks- I never said that it was a bad program, I would like to build stocks in companies of my choosing not just thiers. I have even chosen the same companies that are listed in the portfollio.
That is the reason why some investors do not like them. Try and buy a company not listed. I do not like being deprived, hence the screen name.

| I personally have tried scottrade and I have no problem with them so far. Besides, they have some local offices you can go to in case of some doubt. |

i use Scottrade myself, no issues with it... it works well for me, especially the Scottrader program, I haven't moved up to Scottrade Elite yet, but might eventually.
I looked into Sharebuilder, but didn't see anything that I really needed there.
One question to add though, has anyone used optionsXpress... I've been looking into their site, I like a lot of their features, just wondering if anyone has any advice on them. |
