Hello everyone. My Name is Anthony and I am currently new to the whole stock trading, selling thing. I currently have a nice piece of cash sitting in a bank and i am dying to invest it into something that is profitable. So if anyone out there can send me in the right direction rather it be penny stock or just buying and selling stock please lend a ear.
I am currently serving my country in Baghdad
Iraq and would love to find a way to invest my money while so I can watch it grow while doing our country a service. So please any experts out there please do lend your help. Very Happy

Welcome aboard. All we can do is to give you 'pointers'. Whatever you do with our suggestion is up to you since you are responsible for your own action. I can give you a few watchlists of solid companies that may be undergoing rough patch at the moment:
1. Starbucks (SBUX)
2. Dell (DELL)
3. Lexmark (LXK)
4. Bebe (BEBE)
5. Motorola (MOT)
5. Pfizer (PFE)

You can start researching these stocks for a starter. Please let us know if you have some questions regarding these stocks.

I always recommend trying some of them out in the simulator to get a feel for how the market works.

I'll send over some extra e$ to give you more motivation. Smile

Have you looked into the Savings Deposit program offered through the military finance office. It is a guaranteed 10% return with a max to invest of $10k. Can't go wrong with guaranteed return. Plus the Thrift Savings Plan is great for the military also. Just throwing that out there. I am currently in Arifjan driving in and out of Iraq all the time.

First off, thanks for your service overseas... we haven't forgotten about all you have done along w/ the rest of the soldiers. Second off, one person listed DELL as a good one to buy into. I agree, along w/ HPQ or EMC if you're looking into doing some tech trades. There was recently an analyst on the podcast "The Analyst's Review" on wallst.net that said HPQ and EMC are outperformers, with DELL having a lot of potential. Check it out, see what you think and good luck to you!

I would just like to know if anyone has a link where i can find out more information on the 'Savings Deposit program offered through the military finance office' that was mentioned in this thread ealier?

I haven't heard of this before but a 10% guaranteed return sounds appealing. What is the minimun period of investment?

Many thanks
