my wife is getting 12,000 in student loans and grants from her college which is already being paid for by the VA. They said it's on deferred payments, and we are in debt (for now...read the name). We can use it all after the VA pays it's ammount giving us 12,000 for bills (Which will wipe all the bills out) Should we use it? Has anyone else done something like this?

Getting out of debt now, might be a very smart move, with the interest rates likely to go much higher in not too distant future.
