Do you guys think that we are in or fixing to enter a recession with the performance in the markets lately?

we're currently in a recession. statistics that show whether you are in a recession or not are not usually immediately gathered, and by the time the data is collected to prove you are in recession, you're on the way up again already.

Stock market investing is such a diverse phenomenon that many seem to ignore the efficiency and growth in this field rather concentrate only on monetary benefits.

Any recession is overblown by the press for political gain, which becomes a self fulfilling prophecy when listeners pull back their reigns and fail to spend. But the dummies who bought at the peak of the real estate bubble and failed to read their loans from greedy lenders did not help any. Although, I hear that giving loans to unqualified borrowers was sort of forced by federal regulations encouraging home ownership for the poor.

The (private) company I work for is doing well enough that they sent us all an extra $300 (minus taxes) to go along with the stimulus.

And many of the stocks in my IRA/Roth are bumping back up now that earnings are coming in with 30 to 100% growth (exept one that missed estimates by a penny). One was just bought out at 18% cash premium to its April 4 price. So there are still opportunities out there.

If real inflation numbers were used, both USA and Canada would be in recession for a few months now. Of course according to the official inflation numbers they are not, but the question is do you believe these numbers Smile.

The one positive out come of high oil prices could a real energy policy from our government that pushes and supports renweable energy sources. With a growing world demand for oil (China & India ) the cost of oil will remain high. I think we need to look at other ways to supply our energy needs. Coal can be convered to oil. Electricity can be make in our ways Nuclear, Solar and Wind power. My personal favorite is Hydrgen power for Transportation. If the government wants to throw Money at something throw it here.

The government would kill people for this blood line we call oil (AKA) earl.

The best way to infiltrate somthing/usa is from the inside out then use a good comodity to control the vast majority.
