I took the Investools stocks course and found that useful, since I had only been investing (floundering) for about a year before that. They have all sorts of searches for finding stocks with good fundamentals and other factors and figuring out where big money is going. I have not gone further than that yet, but did attend their Chicago conference in where I picked up more helpful hints, and a full set of DVD's of all sessions, including ones I missed or were filled.
Investools HQ is in Utah, but they merged with thinkorswim.com broker in Chicago. Their thinkDesktop app has more real time techical indicators than you know what to do with initially. Option trades are only $1.50/contract for Investools members, so you can dabble in small option trades to learn without taking a big risk. Stock trades below a large number of shares are $5.00 for anyone. It is even useful for trades elsewhere because thinkDesktop updates quotes/charts every 3 seconds real time vs. Fidelity's Active Trader Pro 2 minute updates. |
