We have to be responsible for our personal decisions. We don't need anymore illegal things on the books unless we want prisons to be the biggest growth sector in our economy. A class action lawsuit is custom made for the lawyers to profit and the plaintiffs get jack!

Yes, we do have to be responsible for our decisions, but accountability is not limited to the person who is persuaded by the advertising lullaby that is designed to eat away subliminally at your mind. There is a reason that they outlawed advertising tobacco products in places where minors might see them, because BILLIONS are spent on creating effective advertising. A company that willfully produces a product that CAUSES degraded health and cancer and emphazima and birth defects AND to top it all off IS ADDICTIVE SHOULD ABSOLUTELY be held accountable. If a pharma company created a pill that had these properties, people would be OUTRAGED and the company would be sued and likely be out of business. But for some reason cigarette companies were just trying to make a buck and did it well.

Cigarette companies should be held accountable because the only action they took when faced with the fact that their product is dangerous is to do what any business does when faced with a potential decline of sales, do what ever it takes to sell more, and that is wrong.
