XOI Earlpig index now strugglin mightily afta the 1516+ high was put in. It's gonna be hilarious ifn T-bone Pickens ends up being the reverse indickater fer the 3rd time in 2 years. CNBC paraded him on taday to have him say Earl will hit $80 bafo $50 fer the 3rd time since Katrina. In the last 2 instances Earl did an almost immdediate about face! Laughing This time they gave him a nice headstart as we see where physical Earl is tradin. Yo T-bone!....if you can't get er dunn this time then get to hell outta da bidness! Laughing "If" the XOI closes balow 1485 it will be a dreaded "key reversal" day. They came close 2 weeks back prior to this blowoff top. If you hold your long positions after a key reversal day it is sheeeer suicide. Jist axe Tek bout BRLC. Embarassed

For reference, on the 10 day chawt you kin see that there is no majer support fer the XOI until 1455...just in case she terns n berns. Very Happy I think I already mentioned how the most frenzied pawt of any rally (or selloff) is when fokes want in (or out) at any cost. Once tops are formed the exodus is very swift. This is also why a stock hitting a multi year low can sumtimes duble in a mattah of days to weeks, which of course is why I like da little dawgs. Cool

I'm thinking of moving 10% of my real $ into DIG. Most of the rest I have in CVX, XOP, and XES.

So, you plan on being slightly overweight in energy? Not that there's anything wrong with that... Wink

I would be careful about getting too heavily levered to any one sector, especially with healthcare/biotech seeming to be cheap as well. I would be hesitant to be over 35% energy just as a rule of thumb.

Those of you who have been paying attention to M&A headlines undoubtedly saw the Transocean/GlobalSantaFe deal - some very interesting things going about with that; I touch on the valuation side in my latest article. http://www.valuestockreports.com/072307.htm

A side note:

Although oil is near its all time highs in US dollar terms that is not the case with other currencies. The dollar is down over 9% against the Euro so oil is trading well below its all time highs on international markets.

The recent rise in oil prices has been largely driven by the decline in the dollar. This is one of the reasons that the major oil companies aren't showing soaring profits, most of their operations are overseas.
