We wash stuff in cold water anyway. It's not a big deal.
On the one hand, if you're cutting corners to the level that $63 a year makes a difference in your budget (it's a bit over 17 cents a day  ) then you probably have worse problems. On the other hand, washing in cold water, changing your air conditioner filters regularly, keeping the tires in your vehicle properly inflated... all of these little things can add up. Here's a link to an article that says underinflated tires cost American motorists 4 million gallons of gas. A day.  At $2 per gallon (a conservative estimate, now-a-days) that's 8 million dollars a day being thrown out the window. I would take that sort of savings.  |
