Methinks I snookerd meself when I gave away all my cash since mumphly returns are based on account values at da beginnin o'da munth. But dat just be neggy thinkin. So here be my challenge to players 2 thru 4 on da leaderboard. (I doan wanna mess wit dat GND dude cause I once checked what he had dunn ta gain 20%+ and his tai-ming was inpeccable!   ) Anyhoo...I bet I will finish in the top 5, even with the handicap I put on meself. And I doan want my muny back from Dave since you fokes need a reason to visit this site being dat ya doan tawk bout stocks...Dave runs dem neato games ya took a shine to.  So playas 2 thru 5...Da Reaper says he gonna pass ya....and I has $25000 init fo ya ifn ya gots da guts ta step up and say ya think I isn't. 
On a sidenote, I wanted to acknowledge that da muny I had won in last year's competitions has arrived from Ben. So Ben be OK by me....although I may actually be taking mo comfert in da fack dat I doesn't hasta send da boyz to Chicaaaago lookin fo him. Dat woulda bin ugly. |

| Grim, your cash position should not have any impact on your stock returns. If you want, I'll run the numbers manually to be sure. But the return position is based only on your stock positions at the beginning of the month, not your cash. |

Well...at the beginning of da munth I was purty fooly invested. I stawted sellin stuff off ta raise cash so dat you would be able ta keep da natives happy. BTW, has this site changed hands yet?  And do you know ifn da new owner is gonna keep eI a stock site....or change it over to sumthin mo along da lines of Romper Room? |

What that does is give you funds to reinvest without incuring a reduced return. The amount of actual cash on hand at the beginning of the month is not taken into account. As you sell holdings, your returns for those holdings are "booked" (meaning frozen or unchanging) and the cash is available for new investing throughout the month. The fact that you have not reinvested the cash but instead gave it away should not impact your return calculation.

The last thing I saw that Ben posted was that he was waiting on escrow to close.

I have no idea. I had some discussions with other potential buyers, and in those cases they intended to retain the current site functionality with the sim and so on. But I have not personally talked to the person that is currently the winning bidder. So I cannot personally comment on their intentions.
I would defer to Ben to provide an actual update as far as that goes. |

Final day today and the markets are up so far. INWB turned in a huge performance in the fall yesterday. I wonder how he pulled that one off!
Anyway, I still say anything can happen!
