There have been some questions as to how the Percentage gain is calculated.
-The current portfolio percentage is based on individual trading activity and not "total" portfolio gain.
-Options are not being traded realistically.
We will work to correct these issues, but it will take some time. Hopefully we can have them ready for next month.
The competition still stands! The game still works fine and a gain is a gain no matter how it's calculated. We'll keep you notified of any programming changes as we progress.
Thanks to everyone who has been sticking with us! This game is still new and was written from scratch so there will be bugs. Hopefully with your feedback we can make this one of the best Simulators on the net. (if it isn't already )
Best of luck with your trades!

Well, I for one (as many of you know) have seen the highs and the lows. I've been down as far as -57% and as high as; well where am I now? King
Good luck with the changes! |

Since the top gainers will be the players who trade options, how about a discussion board where we can discuss options? and how about separating the options players from the stock players as far as the rankings go?, part of the fun of playing any competition is working your way up the rankings, if a bunch of options players come on board the guy with a 500% gain achieved through simple stock trading will have no chance at crackin the top 10! |

This is an excellent idea. We've thought about ways to seperate them, but most deal with leaving it up to the member to say if it's an option or not.
We could though make it so that anyone that trades any stocks that are below $2 or so get put in a different catagory.
We are open to any ideas from our members as to what would work best for everyone. |

Great idea about the sub 2.00 dawgs, in fact, what you may want to consider doing is having a weekly POS stock competition under a different stock board for stocks trading at 2.00 or less, on Fri evening after all of the shennanigans in after hours trading are over so we can get true final price quotes off a site like CBSmarketwatch, you could post say 10-15 different choices, everyone can pick the choice they feel will be the biggest % gainer at the 4 pm close the following Fri, the winner could get say 1000 eBucks, 500 for 2nd, 300 for third, something like that, I think it would be fun, but I'm an idiot so maybe I'm wrong BTW, how do you actually buy an option at this site, when I click on my port and get to the buy screen it only recognizes stock symbols thanks for your help! |

Hi Grim,
You can go to the options section on Yahoo finance:
http://biz.yahoo.com/opt/
and get some symbols there. I think they all have a . in them somewhere but the Simulator recognizes them.
For a good time try the most active. They are crazy though!
Investing is supposed to be like watching grass grow...not like watching gymnastics with just as many ups and downs, but it is more fun.
I'm all for seperating those that invest in regular stocks with those doing options and pennies. I'd like to see who is doing the best trading how I would in real life. |

You have to sell them individually. The simulator does not combine holdings at this time. Sounds like a nice idea though. |
