Hello everyone! I was the board member formerly known as Thrilla. I had a little glitch with my portfolio that we couldn't fix. The admin told me I could start a new name if I wanted, so here I am! Wink

Heh, I don't really mind repeat posts. I just thought that you might find some useful information on some of the other posts. Don't worry about whether or not you are new to the boards or not. If you have something valuable to contribute, people will listen. Thumbs up

Before you go too much further with the new account name, what was the problem with the old one? I'm sure it can be fixed.

I bought an option that is now expired. I forgot to sell before it expired and now my portfolio doesn't work. I don't really mind...the post count is just a number anyways. Razz

Oh, I remember what the problem was now. We got the expired options / invalid stock symbol fixed for the hourly portfolio percentage update script fixed. But for interactive use, there wasn't a way to tell if the quote request was coming from an existing portfolio holding or a new stock purchase. Obviously you shouldn't be able to purchase an invalid stock... Laughing

I think what needs to happen is when you buy something for your portfolio you have to mark whether it's an option or a stock. Options should be treated differently anyway; an option is generally (always?) based on 100 shares of stock, so the price of one option contract for $1.50 is supposed to be $150, not $1.50. With the currently portfolio trading simulator people that trade options are getting a good deal. Wink

Yeah, this happened about a month ago. I PM'd the admin a couple times and he help trying to fix it. We both finally agreed that it might just be better if I just started with a new name. (And learn from my mistakes.) Mr. Green
