Has anyone used Priceline for flights and, if so, are you typically put on the first or last plane of the day (like a 6:00 a.m. flight?)

I have used it to go from Boston to San Francisco. We got normal flight times, on Northwest, and when we checked in we got exit row seating (our choice) so we had more leg room. We got a great deal. This was in 2002. I am not having as much luck getting a good price right now though.

Bidding for travel is the best site. If you do your homework and research you will have no problems and have good knowledge of what you might get when bidding.

I have used Priceline.com for getting hotel rooms when traveling out of town. I've been successful at getting 3-star rooms for as little as $35 in major metropolitan areas. I've only been dissatisfied one time, so Priceline's great with me.

Make sure whatever your arrival/departure day is, you don't have any set plans on those days. My mom used priceline and was wanting to get here on a Thursday and leave on Sunday. It had her arriving late THur and leaving EARLY Sunday morning. So we only had two days together. We were hoping for a few half days, but no such luck.

I have not used priceline for flights but I did for a hotel. I did not like the limited input I could give.

For air I usually check travelocity, expedia and orbitz.
