I purchased 25 Shares at $13.09 (eInvesting Game Shares) at around 5:00EST and imediately it dropped $10.00 (or -2.97%)... Why did I take a loss for shares purchased after hours? Just Curious

my guess is the trading system being used by einvesting.com is set up to take out a fictitious $10 trading fee upon entry of the stock purchase order, not at execution of the stock purchase order.
hope this is clear enough.
will clarify better as needed. |

Yep, freeye s correct. The commission fee is deducted right away, so just like in real life if you pay a commission your down already.
Maybe we can do a special where for a day all trades are only $1! |

Commissions are applied when the trade is made. And they are, of course, a cost of trading and therefore are factored into the return calculation. If you buy a stock and then sell it immediately, with no movement in the share price, you're out $20. |

the $1 commission day would be a good idea.
to clarify it would be a good idea for those that are working from a small equity base (under $1,000) and have made a bad stock selection and are trailing in the contest.
by having a $1 commission day this will allow these investors to unwind the losing positions an repurchase other stocks that may bring them back into being more competitive.
if they are more competitive then they may also be more active on the forums as well which would be a nice refreshing bonus. |
