NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Shares of discount broker Ameritrade rallied early Monday on reports rival online broker and bank E-Trade Financial Corp. has made an unsolicited takeover offer.

Bad for competition I'd say, but otherwise...just like banks constantly merging. No big deal I don't think.
