Would you be willing to have a networth and overall ranking list on that was for "Pure" members only? "Pure" meaning that they have purchased NO e$, thus showing their money has all come from the forums and investments.

At the moment there's no way to track that. It would require some sort of log that shows who has purchased e$ (and how much) and that might get into privacy issues. From a stricly technical standpoint it can be done. From a logistical standpoint there are some issues that would need to be addressed.

We should be careful not to chastise any members who want to purchase e$'s. After all the purchase of e$'s helps us have meaningful contests that pay real money. Very Happy Which helps Us grow and become more powerful...mooohahhhhh Twisted Evil

You quoted me, so I will answer: I don't know. Smile Only Benjamin has that information. As I said, whether he gives it out or not is up to him and I would think the folks that actually purchased e$. Frusnak has already gone public with one purchase... I have no idea if there are any others.

Kind of on the same note, I don't see how buying e$ is really that much different than getting them through posting. Neither one has anything to do with investment skill, but you seem to think one should be counted while the other shouldn't.
This was a thread somewhere else... someone wanted a contest to see who could attain the highest net worth only by investing. Maybe you should revive that topic. As I said there, I have an account here which I do not post with or buy e$ for, but only earn additional e$ through investing. I continue to race toward 1,000,000 e$ with that, right now I am up over 20% overall and only need about 994,000 more e$! Razz

I realized the privacy and funding issues related when I posted the idea, but I just didn't know if someone had already asked this of the forums. I agree that it would be a logistical nightmare, but just thought I'd ask what everyone else thought of the system.

Well, then you get into the problem of Quantitative vs. Qualitative data, and as a Stat professor once told me, "Let me know what you want the numbers to say, and they'll find a way to say it..."

I figured Qualitative responses would be much better for the group by creating discussion of the topic...

Why does anyone care how much $e anyone has?

It's all in the percentages, right? (as long as you have enough that the transaction fees are relatively insignificant)

There have been a few buyers of e$, but the really tough part would be tracking everyone that received various bonuses. From contests to referrals to e$ paying gigs I'd say the number of members who received extra e$ is in the hundreds.
