This board might be fun, here's how it works. You make a prediction about a stock or index and the amount of e$ you feel you should be awarded if your guess comes true....including a time frame. Members vote on whether or not you should be paid for your perdickshun! I dunno...let's do sumthing...even if it's wrong!
My guess for $20000 e$ if I am right:
HANS announced a 4/1 split today. I say it gets cut in half from the current $168 @ 11 AM EST on today 6/12 before the split date. |

Chit! No wonder benjamin keeps falling asleep. My foist outrageous purrdixshun generated all of 12 page views! Usually when I'm tawkin fokes are so pee-a-zissed bout what I said that they keep flicking back to what I said in hopes they kin think of sumthin to say and stawt an argument witme. Tain't no biggie. While yuns guys who usually do mosta da tawkin sit back and think about the next stock yer gonna think about....I'll keep tawkin. I said a looooooooong time ago that da VIX would sumday break above 18.50....purty much when da VIX was down below 11.00. Mission accomplished and dunn mo than once. I also said that there will be no new Naz high (and probably no break above the only nonconfirmed top left at 2235ish) until da Naz breaks balow 2040. We bees gettin there. I will now purrdict dat there will soon be a stroooong rally as a result of da mawkets finally seeing things my way. Not prepared to say how low she'll go yet. Maybe I'll just chawge everyone that wants me to "stop da carnage" $5000 each. I will say that I will be buyin some long term hold chit meself though. Oh yeah, got oil?!! |

Its not really any bold prediction to say that the VIX will register above 11 because historically, volatility is in the high teens... like around what you "called".
Since you see a bloodbath ahead for the Nasdaq, that must mean you think we'll see the VXN back above 40? |

You don't think purrdicting dat da VIX would trade through 18.50 when it was down below 11.00 was a goodun?!! If da VIX was a stock you would have dubled yer $$$ in a few months! Now try that on yer own. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if my call that da Naz breaks below 2040 befo da next significant rally materializes. When that happens I purrdict da VIX will break back down below 14.00 minimum...butcha had better hope it doan break balow 10 fitty cause if it do....da Naz ainna come back up fo a looooooong time. How you be likin me view on XOM as opposed to yer view so far? Hang in there, you will go WOW! You might even change your current way of lookin at stock valuations and begin to wunder why you even attempted to act like an anal-yst. |

It's a measure of complacency in da mawkets basically. Low VIX values mean high complacency in da mawkets...a high numba fo da VIX generally means that the fear levels are increasing. Right now fokes is bettin on lower stock prices as da VIX has risen to levels not seen for years (high put options volumes). It's a very good measure of the emotional aspects o'da mawkets and it is currently saying that a turn is coming soon which will drive stock prices higher. Goes along with the theory of "look at what da masses be doin....bet exactly opposite!' Of course you can also get a very good guage simply by watching da Cramer's A Mad Monkey show. |

On today's Mad Monkey show Cramer said he hasn't liked the airlines for 3 years. Of course that goes a looong way in explaining why the one that he picked as a new buy, CAL, went from $5 to where it closed tonight before he finally recognized it is a great play! Purrdixshun: Cramer will do more to cause pain to the CAL longs than the terrorists did on 9/11/2001! Watch! |
