It's called trading commissions. Smile

You pay e$10 each trade. So if you purchase a stock, you're immediately in the hole by e$10 because of the commissions. You'll pay another e$10 when you sell.

In other words, there's nothing to fix. As vetelmo says, get used to it. Wink

It is taken out, but that's a separate issue.

That's how it works in real life, thus that's the way it works in the simulator. Trading commissions are a cost of investing, and they affect your return. That's the way it works.

If you purchase more than one or two shares of something, it's not a big percent. If you're trying to buy something to trade on a five cent swing, then you need to be sure to buy enough shares so that your profits cover your costs of e$20 total, trade commission in + trade commission out of the position.

Um, its not ruining anything... because in a real life portfolio you would have to take trading costs into account to see what your actual return is. Ask anyone who makes a $500-1000 purchase with Etrade or any other broker... your $10 in and out really do add up.

If the 10$ trading fee is "ruining your returns" maybe you should look for better stocks.? just a thought.

When you buy a stock in real life or even here in the sim you need to consider that every trade is 20 in the hole right from the start.
