What do guys think about dell earnings and this:After months of speculation, computer maker Dell Inc. said Thursday it will use computer chips made by Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Advanced Micro Devices Inc., sending shares of AMD soaring in after-hours trading.
AMD shares were trading at $35.85 in the extended session, up $4.50, or over 14 percent, from Thursday's closing price of $31.35. |

| AMD will benefit more than Dell on this deal. AMD has just opened the door to the candy store... Dell still has to sell the servers... AMD will spike with some profit taking later on... I think Dell will have more of the slow upward crawl. |

I agree with LosingMA.
Having AMD chips in their servers doesn't translate into automatic sales for Dell or an increased server marketshare.
Dell doesn't necessarily gain from this.
On the otherhand, signing Dell as a customer is a massive gain for AMD and will result in more consumer exposure to their product and likely a large production contract. |
