I really screwed this one up.
The idea of the long-term portfolio contest was to pick a stock a week or so before the start and then everyone see's where it goes from the price it opens at for the run.
I know some people will be mad, but I think I need to do this...if even for my own sanity.
I will start a thread about a week before July 1st and anyone that isn't in the year-long competition can enter a pick for the 6 month contest that ends at the same time the year-long competition does.
It's the same game, only for half the time and half the e$ prize (500,000).
Once I start the contest I'll list all the rules then, but here is a preview:
1. You can only enter the 6 month contest if your not in the yearly one.
2. You don't need to tell me a price because you'll get whatever it opens at Monday July 3rd.
3. Minimum stock price is $5.
4. Place your pick in the thread once I start it. Once you post your stock it's locked in and nobody else can take it.
5. You cannot pick what someone else has picked.
I just want to make it fair for everyone...sorry about the mix up.

You can either give the price where it's at, or take whatever it's at starting on the 1st. |

I'm on the late train (having only discovered this site a few weeks ago), but I would like to enter the late long term stock picking contest with GME beginning at today's closing price of 44.60. |

Thanks, Ben. Sad part of it is that after today, my contest stock is up more than my entire real life portfolio. I'm only +0.22% for the year as of today's close (not including about $2k in realized gains) while GME is up 1.75% since yesterday.
That's OK, though. At this point in my life, the education and experience is more important than making fast, easy gains. That's why I'm here. |
