A few exciting changes started this evening on eInvesting.com!

First, by popular demand, your e$ in the "bank" will now be earning interest at 10% per year, paid daily. However, there are a few restrictions. Interest is paid on your average daily balance, which is the average of what you had yesterday and today. So if you had e$1,000 yesterday and e$2,000 today you will earn interest on e$1,500 for the day. There is also a minimum average daily balance of e$500 required to receive any interest. Interest deposits will be done each night into your account.

Next, since we had a daily script all written, we have set things up so that property values will now adjust daily as well. Property is currently set to increase at 4% per month. Take 4%, divide by the number of days in the month, and multiply by the value of the property and that's the daily change.

For example, the Barren Desert property started out at $1,000 for the last month, and at the end of the month jumped to $1,040. Now it will go up about $1 per day. The value is low due to rounding, but who really wants to invest in barren desert property anyway? Wink

Collectables are done the same way other than the rate is 3%.

Extremely costly items like the Grand Canyon do not increase until someone purchases them.

Does this mean that properties and collectibles are still GUARANTEED to increase 3 or 4% per month - if you hold for the entire month? Basically, is the sum of the daily changes going to always work out to some fixed number?

Yes, so far the property values are fixed...for the rest of this month. BUT watch out next month, they may start fluctuating wildly.

We'll announce the changes to that part soon.

Outstanding Benjamin! A new reality factor in our world. This has GOT to be the finest "learn as you go" site on the internet. The only thing I can think that we're missing now is posting of dividends for stock owned, but in the interests of Dave's and your sanity... I think we can let that one slide Smile

E-investing is rapidly entering the league of college level classes. Just wondering....have you considered promoting it to teachers? There's a site on the net that's targeted to the education system, but it doesn't have near the features that this site has.

Kudo's to Benjamin and Dave....and thanks to all who contribute and teach this old dog new tricks! Rolling Eyes Laughing

If there was some service we could subscribe to (for free) and get dividend payout announcements, we could do that. The Yahoo quote service is fine for generating quote values (daily change, etc.) but does not include the rest of the information we really need like splits and dividends.

VERY nice!

I love the fact that this website is a total package. It's not just one thing that makes the site great; it's everything combined. It's rare that you see a board that is continually being improved even a year (or so) after it's original creation. There's a lot of love in this place Exclamation

Yahoo does offer dividend information if you know the correct buttons to push. Wink Don't expect it right away, but we're looking at ways to automate dividend payments and even dividend reinvesting (much like a real-world broker would do) at some point in the future.

No scheduled release date, but we are at least moving forward with the investigation.

In the "for what it's worth" department...

The total user community of eInvesting.com has a total cash balance of (as I write this post) e$14,343,623.45. Of those, 66 members have an average daily balance below the threshold currently required to earn interest (e$500). The Bank of eInvesting.com is paying out over e$3,000 per night in daily interest payments. Shocked

Nothing much. It's just for fun. Smile

If you hold property or collectables they appreciate in value, at least for now. Other items are just something fun to have in your inventory.
