PortalPlayer, Inc.
Currently at 10.69.... This is one that I would pick up that is a little bit of a risk. They were the main manufacturer of the iPod. They made the famous jog wheel on them also. Apple dropped them from manufacturing going forward but will continue to manufacture all current products. The stock is sitting around it's low and it's high was about 33. I am willing to sit on this one for a while and see what it does. |

Excellent call. 
This is a very sound company. Their financials are exemplary. I actually started tracking this one in March (click here to see that post topic).... but, I think you have spotted their bottom good job! 
This company is strong and their current actual value is about 50% of the stock price, that is a steal by most of todays overpriced market standards. If Apple chose them once then they are definitey a force to be reckoned with in their sector. P/E= 5.9, PEG=.43 couple that with zero debt, strong institutional and insider interest and by all rights you should have a winner. It is a well managed company and I think you are right...... this is is a good risk.
Another great point here is that the Enterprise Value is less than half of the Market Cap making this a steal for an acquisition and possibly great profits from an ensuing merger $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$  |

| When I was running a screen for the monthly stock picking contest, this came up on it. While it looked appealing at first, I then realized that they were losing all the business they do with Apple, so your earnings growth numbers may be off by a large amount. |

| I do mention that the only business they will keep with Apple is what apple is currenlty producing with the iPods. Nothing going forward. And it's a scary thought that Apple was their biggest customer. This doesn't mean that they are a bad company. This is why I said there is a risk associated with it. |
