I have the system creating logs for me, so I don't have to be online when it happens. I can check the daily logs and find out what the situation seemed to be at the time people have negative returns.
Everything points to a lack of response from Yahoo. I added some code a while back to try to combat that, but unfortunately I can't test it except under "live" conditions. Clearly the code is not working.
As a reminder, the update process runs once every 15 minutes. If you can't wait that long, you can go to http://www.einvesting.com/myreturn.php and you will update your specific numbers right away. |

That's actually not necessary now. Since I can't be on 24x7 I adjusted the quote process so that if more than 5 people have an extremely negative return it logs the entire quote dump from Yahoo to a file for me to review later. It clearly shows that Yahoo is not delivering a complete set of data, meaning if I ask for 850 quotes sometimes I only get 400 or so. Anything that is not returned is showing up as zero, which causes you to get a -100% return for those holdings. |

| Yesterday when I was putting in a buy order I noticed that the sim doesn't give you an appx of how many shares you could buy with the e$ you still have avail. I think that feature should be brought back if possible, jist a suggestion. |

| I'm wondering what kind of rocket stocks you pick that make you miss out on 1.5% in a couple minutes... did you ever get back to us on that issue, or is this a new one? |

Well...the one I was complainin bout didn't rocket yet and I did trade it later on and I was satisfied with the fills. But my buy late in the day where I bought SGTL, no way I should have been filled at 6.85 because the stock was holding steady below 6.75 when I clicked buy...and I even let it trade for an estreee 3 or 4 minutes in the 6.72-6.75 range. I was filled at 6.85! That fill now takes this day/swing trade outta da cumfert zone! No biggie really....but I could veeeery easily leave this trade now with a 2% loss. |

Your order was placed at 3:30 Eastern time. That means that it filled (at the earliest) at 3:50.
Here's a zoomed in chart of SGTL's trading activity according to Yahoo between the hours of 3:00 and 4:00. In order to make the important part visible, I zoomed the chart in a graphics program, which lost some of the information which I have added back in. The top line represents the $7.00 trading line, and the lower line is $6.50.
Now as I said, you entered the order and it was accepted into the system at 21 seconds after 3:30 eastern time. Orders are held for at least 20 minutes and at most 21 minutes. The order queue process runs at :00 past the minute, every minute during market hours. So that means that your order was most likely executed at 15:51:00 or very near there. So it was delayed not by 20 minutes but by 20 minutes and 39 seconds. I say most likely because I had not yet put the "executed date" on the order queue record like I said I was going to. I have done that, so in the future I will be able to tell you exactly when the trade was executed versus when it was placed into the queue.
Please examine very closely the daily chart data from Yahoo, that part that is circled. Notice the jump? That's when your order filled. You seem to make it out that the sim is "evil" and that it's out to get you. I'm sorry that you feel that way. But the fact is, your order was placed and processed exactly the same way that all the other orders are.
Now this stock does trade on the NASDAQ, which only delays quotes 15 minutes. That is the only thing that I see as an issue here. If you're playing trades this close, then you'll need to figure out how to take that into account. If you have access to real time quotes, figure out how and when to place your trades to counteract that 5 minute difference. Adjust your trading strategies.
I don't know how you're monitoring the quote values, as you didn't say. I assumed that you're using a real-time quote source instead of Yahoo's quotes. If you're using Yahoo's quotes to base your trades on, then that would explain some of your frustration.
You know the sim orders are delayed 20 minutes.
You know NASDAQ quotes are delayed 15 minutes.
Do the math. |

| Look, if your soooooo worried about the price, follow the time frames for the delay, use INET or Real Time ECN on Yahoo. Every 5 minutes, put a buy order in, watch the stock as it goes and delete the entries that wont fit your special criteria. |

Ok, let's take a moment for a reality check here. Let's see... who's in first place? Who has over 500% churn? I'd say the SIM is not doing THAT bad a job for you.
REAPER!.... DUDE! ... Get a grip, and lay off that Mountain Dew man You're letting this thing get to you. LMFAO! |

Yeah basically it's a wash if you do that. Who ever heard of a free 20 min option? |

All I know is that when I clicked buy here, SGTL was trading below 6.75 realtime @ Ameritrade. Therefore I assumed I would get the price I was seeing at Ameritrade because that was the price da sim would be showing in 20 minutes. The sim used to be spot on but in the past week or so the fills have been waaaay off so i don't suggest that anyone who is selling and trying to get the top of a gapup move expect getting it, it'll be nice when limit orders are added. |
