Instead of cutting everyone off completely, could you consider reinstating the e$ payment for this forum, but at some really low low level? Like maybe a base of e$10 per post, and no letter bonus? Since most of the posts here are short anyway there's not much point in getting paid extra for the length of the post.

Heck, even e$5 per post would be better than nothing... but I'm not whining. Wink

Okay, maybe I am. So there. Razz

I think we'd have to hard code it somehow. Do you want to take a look? I think 50 e$ would be good.

Oh, so the payment is either "on" or "off" and it's the same set amount for all forums? I didn't realize that...

I looked over the screen used to set the payout, and I see what you mean. It's ON or OFF, tha'ts it. I bet that we can change that logic so that the payout is an e$ amount rather than simply on or off. If you wanted to turn it off, simply enter a value of zero. Obviously this is the highest priority item, and I should get to work on it right away. Razz

Heh...well if it's simple enough. Smile

I'm sure you could put the change on the doctor site, I know lots of sites use that cash mod and would like to be able to set custom cash per forum.

I will stop short of saying that the cash MOD uses a bad database design, but the design the author elected to use certainly does not make it easy to set an e$ payout amount that is different for each forum. Because of that, I don't think I will try to code anything for this at the moment.

I have, however, altered the code so that your Net Worth is the same here as in other forums. So if you're sitting on a pile of cash, you should see the cash value reflected in your net worth even if it's not actually displayed here. That much, I could do easily. Cool

I understand the reasoning, Benjamin, and the change makes sense.

Guess I'll have to get serious to earn e$ now... Wink Very Happy

I thought about it and I think there will be certain times you can make money in this forum. There won't be a pattern though. Wink

I think we should get a weekly/monthly paycheck type deal vs pay per post.. I thought the payper post was too high.
I like to earn me money the good ol fashioned way and a monthly/weekly payment would be like woiking for a living.. Say 500 e$ per week for active posters only.

Thats pretty cool Jacob.

Perhaps depending on how many posts in each forum you would be given a job title.

Say if the majority of your posts are in off-topic your an Entertainer and you make 1,000 e$ per week.

If the majority of your posts are in the research center your a Researcher and make 3,000 e$ per week.

Maybe if you post the most in The Stock Market your a market Guru and make $2,500 e$ per week.

Kind of an interesting idea.

How about if you post the most in the beginners forum your an investing trainer and earn 3,500 e$ per week, or if you ask a lot of questions your an investing trainee and earn 1,500 e$ per week.

Could make things a lot more interesting. The jobs could just be based on the number or posts or be up to the mods and admin to make the call where you fit.

Interesting idea but I like the way the format is set now since I kind of see it as a commission based job. The more posting or business I do the more I get paid. That is how I look at it.

e$ cash payouts are back for this area, but on a reduced basis. If you want to post here you certainly can, but you'll get paid a reduced amount. The amount may fluctuate from time to time. Enjoy. Cool
