I'm confused about the posting. Some count for e$ and some don't, but do they all count towards your posting limit, or is that selective too? Question

At the moment, all posts count towards the 10 minimum required to achieve "active" status for the month.

I have a quick question..

Is this reward coded in a script to automatically increase the poster's funds by 5000 e$ or is it manually donated? To be honest, I couldn't even tell if I received the bonus because I initially blew through a lot of money while hitting the 10 post mark. Laughing

Nothing wrong with owning a shack, especially if you have some seaside land to put it on. Wink

So what your saying is at some point only investing posts will count for anything? This is a reversal from what the original idea was with these useless posts isn't it? "Lets get more people posting" Shocked Confused

No, I am not saying that. Smile I'm saying that at the moment all posts count towards the 10 post minimum, nothing more. Benjamin has not brought up the idea of limiting the 10 posts to "investing-related" posts as far as I know. The only change is the non-investing forum no longer pays e$ for posting.

I don't think so, but that's a question for Ben to address.

I think if your active no matter in the off topic discussion or other forums 10 posts puts you in the game. It's just the e$ I wanted to limit. Smile

Hopefully limiting the e$ gained there will help keep inflation down.

I think there has to be some limit on it, otherwise we get people like PJD posting random "giddyups"... he is the ultimate argument that all posts are not created equal.

well, you're always going to have people who take advantage of the way things work, and so really the only way for things to run smoothly is to put restrictions. When all else fails, you just have to start putting restrictions and use trial and error or better judgement. So yes, there are the people who just post to get extra e$.

But in the overall scheme of things, it really isn't hurting much, is it? I mean it's abusing a system that should work if everyone played nice, but there's really no harm in them posting to try to get some extra e$ to work with. But even then, perhaps a minimum word count so as to promote actual constructive conversation? As it stands, you're going to get plenty of one or two word responses, and I think that if you put a restriction on pasting stuff and a restriction on short, pointless posts.

So yeah, that's just my opinion. I'm new here, so maybe my ideas shouldn't count for much, but it seems to make sense to me that requiring a minimum amount of words and restricting pasting should increase the actual constructive conversation going on, and should get rid of the people who abuse the e$ opportunites posting provides.

I agree with the 94 year old teenager on this issue. However, there is no actual way to completely eradicate this issue. Anything can be random and/or pointless depending on your perspective/ opinion. For instance, lets say (like the people above) that my single word response is random and an unwarranted way to just to get e$. However, I use the word Giddyup not as a random way of conning e$ but as a symbol of the joy and jubilation i get when irecieve another pearl of wisdom from a thread or forum. You guys should be honored i even took the time to compliment your forum. This is a time in which praise and complimentation are as scarce as Middle Eastern oil. Our reserves are running dry, and we need gigantic corporations to mine whatever weve got left. I feel my patriotic duty and privelage to complimernt people on their posts. Thank you, and God Bless America.
