Whats the most debt you've escaped from and how did you do it?
For me it was having my own business right after college and after 3 years I had about 8k in debt.
How I got out of it was getting a full time job and paying as much I could afford towards my credit cards till it was gone. Took a year and a half to get all the way out though!

| I have gotten out of debt for $336,317 in 1999 i was heaviley invested in the market. I was very greedy and before i knew i was losing more money then i was making. But i just kept telling myself no the market will go back up untill i statred to lose money and then in one day i had a loss of $60,000 i started to borrow on my house that i had paid off. And slowly invested in low key stock that wouldn't make me rich fast but wouldn't cause me to lose anymore money. I slowly got my debt down to only $75,000 i then i got lucky and took a chance in investing in a landfill on the hudson bay. Thinking that we would build some property on it. But before we even cleared out the landfill someone offered us 15 times the amount we paid for the lot as is. We acepted and know i'm not in debt and i made out quite nicely. |

| That is a great story. The worst we've been in is $10,000 debt yyears ago- when we were 20 and newlyweds. We rented out part of our house to have the money to pay it off! |

I working on getting about 20k paid off, including my student loans. Those aren't too bad, but the 7k in credit card debt has been my main focus. I've completely paid off the 2k card, and I'm down to only about 3k left on the card that started off with 5k on it. And this is just in the past year, so I'm pretty pleased at the progress.
I've just been watching what I spend and doing other small things to save money so that I could make larger payments to chip away at the balance (esp. since the first card had 24.9% ) |
