The sad truth is that 90% of the crap he recommends is trading near multi year highs when he says buy so he is responsible for more tops than any single individual on da planet! I really doan feel sorry for da fokes who listen to him. They deserve to get deeestroyed and the sooner people who trade like that are eliminated from da mawkets the sooner the speculative nature will be gone. Eventually the wave of Cramer enthusiasm will fade when there is nothing he can do to rectify the massive losses his flock of idiots will experience. If Jack grubman was investigated by the S.E.C. for getting people into crash and burn stocks during the last bubble perhaps Cramer will be too sumday. I would hate to see him go though because he is such an idiot that he's hilarious! plus he gets stocks to prices they won't see again for many many years. He creates the best short opportunities you will ever see. Wink

I enjoy watching him carry on and expect him to blow out a blood vessel one of these days. He has a tremendous impact on some stock prices and it's unbelieveable that some people would just go out and buy a stock just because he recommended it. It's crazy how the market reacts to almost any news item that gets pumped by him or other analists. A prime example is Rim pay out $650million on a bogus patent case and the stock skyrockets? Where is the logic in this kind of business decission. The company could of settled months ago and not suffered any market loss. Now that management team is being rewarded for it? Or are the investors that are jumping in on herd mentality going to get burned? Shocked

Seems to me, it would be elimentary...pure common sense for the savvy investor, with any IQ to speak of, to simply PLAY the "herd" by reacting opposite to what they do...just like Cramer says to. Wait...just wait for the itchy-trigger-fingered morons to do what we all know they're going to do and then buy on the pullback. It's the earnings that'll get you there, not the first few days of hype reaction, right?

I'm starting to realize all the anti-Cramer sentiment there is out there (in the short time I've been studying stock) and it doesn't really suprise me, given, no matter how much the man tries to play down his impending popularity, ANYbody in the spotlight is going to swallow negative press, from Albert Einstein to Johnny Rotten. I read 3 different articles this weekend against Cramer and every time I hear about someone crying that they lost $ on one of his recommendations, I remember all those Lightening Round callers that have thanked him for the advice that made them enough to pay off bills or put their kid in college or take a good vacation. Anybody trying to show the little guys how to put a few dollars back in their pockets--succeed or fail--is alright by me. He could be doing alot worse things in life, and I'll bet he's helped 20 times the people that have gotten hurt by his views. (Then, there's always the disclaimer at the beginning of the show) I can't hate The Who just because the "herd" of cattle just HAAAAD to stampede their way into the stadium, trampling 11 people dead. Not their fault.

I'll tell you who I DON'T feel sorry for. Peeps that don't have the sense not to abuse his largess/homework when he's already BEGGING them not to. I have to agree on a philosophic note...Greed is a sin. Patience is a virtue. Don't just go out there and scarf up 1000 shares of whatever he's featuring. When the idiots that watch the show do that, I'm reminded of the old Bible story where Jesus said "Be gone ye doers of iniquity. I never knew you."
[Not to compare Jimbo to Jesus, of course, of course, but sometimes I feel like he's gonna come out there one night and say just that....then again, that would probably get him in the same kind of trouble Lennon got into when he said The Beatles were more popular than Christ. Laughing ]

I understand there are alot of scheisters out there, and I feel like I've already identified a couple (and believe me, I strongly disagree with some of Cramer's picks on moral grounds. There are just certain companies I won't allow to use my money if I find their work or product to go against the grain of decency or rightness, so I'm not always in his corner), but I mean, come on...can this particular one man really be all that bad? Just looking at his track record for the last 20-something years, I wouldn't dare challenge his thinking...or his motives. It's like he said when commenting on his detractors..."Bring it on." Cool

(Don't misunderstand the new guy here, folks. I'm not trying to start a blog-war or anything so infantile as hat...just offering up what I feel to be a sort of reverse-devil's-advocate thing where I sense the need. I've seen this kind of thing sour into one of those Jerry Springer type discussions on many different discussion boards...music...natural remedies vs meds...etc. I like to keep things generally friendly and sporting, so don't take me wrong. Take my statement in good spirits. I've just seen so much negativity in my life and I'm getting to a point where, with what good I see in guys like Cramer, or Dr. Jon Barron...I'm like that GE commercial says: "Got to believe it's getting better." Very Happy ...Because of guys like Cramer, I really do believe that it is.)

Personally i like Cramer and his show he is giving the stock market new appeal to all creeds of people and TRYING to help them succeed at it. Is he right all the time NO the he would be a psychic or something in that matter but instead he is an analasyst. He does what he can with the information he has.... I do think it is sad that people BLINDLY follow his suggestions!! but if you bought and sold on his suggestions alone you would be ahead right now... the key is take his suggestions but do your own research and beat the people that are just following his suggestions..

Cramer is good for the economy... politicians are bad for the economy! Long Live Mad Money!

I think if you let someone else do the research and then use YOUR common sense and do YOUR own research of what he is recommending, you might be in a good spot providing you don't try and get greedy and play cautiously. Keeping in ming that they might be short term plays.
