How come my monthly return went down from the last time I checked it even though my stocks have done better since I last checked?

It may be possible that they went down for a bit at the top of the hour but made a rebound since then. It should change again for you soon.

The current monthly portfolio return calculation penalizes active traders as well, if you have reinvested money made from a prior sale then your return will go down. It's on the list of things to fix, and has been for quite some time.

And as Vetelmo mentioned, the update is only run once an hour. So it's possible that your stocks are moving up (or down) and your monthly portfolio % does not seem to move, it could be for that reason.
