On our local news last night they were saying how you can get a free digital camera or even a flat screen tv by filling out offers. I receive these constantly and they require you to purchase or sign up for something. I did this once for a Red Lobster $50 gift card and never got it.
Anyone successful with these offers or are they as they seem, a scam? |

| I've wondered about these too. We signed up for BMG music club and are supposed to get a $50 TGIFridays gift card. We may never see the card, but we wanted to join the music club anyway so we haven't lost anything if we don't recieve it. |

| Yea but those ipods you have to sign up for other offers like netflix (which I have) or buy something. |

They all offer credit card sign ups....don't we have enough plastic in this world?! You have to use the cards to get the free stuff....then unless you are very good with paying off credit cards every month you will end up spending more than what the free item costs. |

| I delete all these offers...I haven't found any that give something for nothing. You always have to sign up for some trial of something...it may work for some people but I will ALWAYS forget to cancel it. |

I have a friend that has received a number of items from "free" sites. I believe an iPod, a MacMini, and a camera. All very impressive, but I imagine it's much more difficult to "get your friends to sign up under you" than their sites suggest. He's encouraged me to try, but I tend to avoid them as more trouble than they're worth.
The spam generated by them can be ridiculous as well. |
