Stay away from this business. It's totally a scam. I tried it out and it's very hard to make money. Territories are cut-throat. Competition sabotages machines. Small profit margins.

I always suspected as much, but it's good to hear it from someone who gave it a shot.

One of my husband's employees recently began a vending business on the side. He is doing quite well actually. I guess it really depends on the area as well as the product you're vending and the locations you put your items in Smile

My mom did this and got really rippped off. It was a few years back but it was supposed to be health food snacks. The machines she got cost her a pretty penny and were totally cheap. If someone shook the machine the slightest bit the snacks would fall right out.

The profit margin was very low. it was a major hassle running all over checking the machines and guessing at inventory.

I have heard there is money to be made "prospecting" for the vending machine manufacturers. You visit businesses and get them to let you place machines in their break rooms etc. Then the company places one of those ads in the paper "Get you own vending route for $8990 - 30 machines". General rule of thumb, if a company is advertising something, its not going to make you rich.
