Has anyone tried http://www.gorillatrades.com/ (advertised in Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine). It is not day trading, but short term picks for days or weeks with a goal of 20-40% gains, or losses not more than 6%. They also have shorts (which I could not do in an IRA) and some longer term picks.

$600 seems kind of pricy, but is a small percentage of the $75k I would be investing. The owner said he turned $250k into $5.5 million in 18 months. I certainly do not expect to match that, but if I could make a fraction of that gain, it would eclipse my 401k and I could retire early.

After googling, I decided to take a pass on the gorilla for now.

But I received snail mail about American Association of Individual Investors http://www.aaii.com/ which may be useful. It is a non-profit group based nearby in Chicago. Besides the website info and extensive stock screening, they have regional seminars or more localized group meetings. You have a full year to decide if the $29.00 annual membership fee is worth it.

if anyone had a system that would guarantee profits, they would not be telling anyone-- they would just use it... these are a waste of time.
