Search engines like text links better than image links because they can "read" them. Text links therefore have context (meaning) while images do not.

| Let's say the engine is Google. Google tends to use a portion of the page in the discription below the link in order to show you where the keyword was found (bold.) Benjamin changed the pictures (n/a in the description) to text (applicable in the description) to provide Google users with a better idea of what the site is about. So yeah, it does make a difference. |
