Well, he does say whether the stock is a short term play as in a couple of days or a longer play like when he said to buy apple and google. For example VLO did go up for a few weeks after he recommended it. I know people who made money on that recommendation that he made but as of now it is down a rather large % from when he said to buy.

I am getting my own TV for Christmas (its a little late arriving, but its a TV, what can you expect?) so maybe I can sit in my room and throw things at Cramer while watching Mad Money. I'm going to start tuning in from time to time, if only to brush up on my impersonation skills.

>Solemn face, hands on hips, head slighly down. Sleeves are rolled up and tie is askew.<
"I hear about some 'accounting irregularities' at Cendant while on vacation, so I picked up another 200,000 shares. The next day Bertowitz calls me, and tells me we are down $17 million."
>Pause for dramatic effect<
"What lessons can we learn from this? Never check your portfolio while on vacation."

What Cramer brings to the table is he stimulates the thought processes. Can help open you up to different ways of looking at a company to see if it is a good investment either short term, long term or shorting it.

Paraphrasing Cramer as a trader: Don't chase a stock, be patient and wait for the stock to come in before taking entry, add to your position in increments.

Cramer in action using the above mentioned advice in a real call actually made by Cramer.

Cramer said to wait for MSO to hit 25.00 and then buy, this call was made just before Martha Stewart was about to be released from prison and he liked the prospects of the new reality tv show and what it might mean for the stock. MSO actually only traded to a low of 26.14 so Cramer's target wasn't hit. Sure enough some news came out which drove MSO up in a frenzy! Cramer went against his own advice and told fokes to buy on the evening Mad Money show on the day the stock gapped up 10%+. Based on Cramer's call to ignore his previous advice and chase the stock instead you paid 31.00+ the next day if you listened to him. From there the stock moved slightly higher and then began the downtrend. On a later show a caller during the lightening round axed Cramer what to do as the stock traded at $26ish off that $35ish high. Cramer said BUY BUY BUY! From there Cramer's 25.00 original target got hit. MSO breaks below $20. MSO trades to a low in the mid teens. MSO rallies to 18.80. A caller axes Cramer what they should do now. Cramer says DON'T BUY! And I guess since he never gave any other advice to da fokes he got in at 31 and 26 it also means DON'T SELL! Laughing Laughing That's Cramer the trader. Cramer as a long term investor will be determined as soon as we find out how well he fares with his long term bullish call on the energy sector. That's the sector that Cramer is solely responsible for creating the blowoff long term top in. Wink

Beholden to no special interests. Very Happy

There was an article about Cramer and Mad Money in the Philadelphia Inquirer today, nothing I haven't heard other than some stuff about Cramer's background, work habits, and how Mad Money is so popular and blah blah blah.

That is a complete insult to Jordan. It is also an insult to Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, John Bogle, Julian Robertson, Michael Steinhardt, George Soros, and John Templeton.

I guess you can say Cramer is the Michael Jordan of the stock market, I know MJ didn't hit 50% of his shots during his career and I know for a fact that Cramer doesn't hit 50% of his calls Very Happy MJ does have a much better scoring average per shot made though, that's fo sho, and I doubt MJ would keep throwin up bombs when he knew there was no chance at makin the shot like say from beyond half court, Cramer will keep firing away like he did with ELOS, MSO, GLW, SIRI, etc. etc. etc. Who do you think is more handsome? MJ or JC? Very Happy

Actually MJ did hit more than 50% of his shots when he played for Chicago. That is unheard of now for a top guard in todays NBA.

Actually, looking at all the stocks the CramersPicks account has it looks like Cramer jumps pretty well himself.

Kewel! those 5 years between 1987-1992 put MJ in da hall of fame and put NIKE in da driver's seat! Laughing I see his low % was 41%, they musta been triple teamin him by then, and of course his career was on the decline by the time they was triple teamin him, which will more than likely be the same legacy Cramer leaves behind Shocked
