Will this be the model that will have all the electronics in it or the model that will be a shell so when we retire we can dress up in it and be a greater at walmart or work at the airport? Laughing

I understand how the system doesn't like unnecessary punctuation, but can it be fitted to handle... options?!?!

I don't know why, but I've been having these urges lately to just start writing naked calls, and I like the leverage they provide if you buy.
Ok, I have no good reason. Chalk it up to the voices telling me what to do.

ACTUALLY, it used to!

Back when we first started if you could find a symbol with the yahoo look up you could play it.

Someone bought 1 share of some option worth a fraction of a penny that made him like 71,000% and about 40 million e$.

After that, we tried to make it a little more realistic. Wink

Option symbols on Yahoo are very specific, if I remember they are all .X symbols. The trick with options trading is handling the contracts correctly. When you purchase "one" options contract, it's based on 100 shares. So the cost for the contract is 100x the quoted price. That's not handled properly by the current sim code.

We also need to handle option expiration dates and so on.

Instead of offering $50 to the winner each month, give the winner $1 for every post they made during the first week of the month that they win.

That could end up being very exspensive. I know I have over a hundred posts this week. It would be a gamble.

Well, he could put a cap on it at $50 or maybe something a little higher considering that not everyone makes near that number of posts in the first week. It would be a nice way to reward active posters.

If it brings more people to post on the boards then I am all for them jumping in to get their ten posts to be in the active rankings. The ten post requirement is a great idea to get people to post.

I just want people to share something interesting. It doesn't even have to be about stocks. Heck, talking about Corvettes with Dave is just as good as valuating RIMM. As long as you bring something to the table, you are good in my book.

Ok, I think we need to rework the whole trade-time thing. I sold Inco, but I got a crap price because of the time difference between real-time and delayed.
But then again, I'm just pissed off so you might as well ignore me.

I tried to cancel the order but I was about 15 seconds too slow... I'll call it a semi-moral lesson.
