Should I raise the starting e$?
Yes, 10,000 e$ to start with is perfect.

You can raise it, but something more like 5,000 e$ would be better.

DON'T Raise it! If people want more e$ they should post or play a game!

Ok, I'm considering bumping up the starting e$ to 10,000.

If I do then anyone who wants 9,000 e$ that joined earlier should get them if they ask. I'm still not sure though, the inflation may be tremendous.

1,000 e$ isn't a lot to start with any perhaps in real life you shouldn't invest just $1,000 anyway.

I'm torn. Please vote and help me decide!

I think 1000 is a resonable starting point. If you post on the boards it does not take long to make 10,000 e$. Having it that low encourages posting.

I'm brand new so my opinion doesn't count for much I am sure. However I am going to give it anyways Laughing . I made my initial purcahse and then saw something to peak my interest so I just came into the forum to make a few posts(like this one) andmake a little more e$ so I could have a little on hand. So I think that $1000 e$ is a nice starting point. It encourages activity in the forums. And that benefits everyone. Like I said just my opinion.

I know when I started, and realized that by posting, I'd get more e$, I started posting up a storm. Kind of got me involved. I'd keep it at 1,000 e$

I agree with most everything people here are saying, its not hard to earn e$, all you need to do is be involved! Sign-up, introduce yourself, tell us the extent of your investing knowledge, ask a question or two (or comment on a few stocks), and you're up to 2000 e$.
This is a sim, you can run it anyway you want and in the end, you decide what you get out of it. I am teaching myself to manage a huge portfolio, because it necessitates finding many good companies and branching out into areas I never really looked at before.

I'll tell you what: if you are new, and can say here why you need more e$ right away, and it is a decent enough reason, I will give you some. Just be active too, the money will roll out from me to you. Wink

Keep it at 1000 levels.

But there should be more bonus e$ to keep new members posting. Once they get in posting habit, they will continue posting and normal e$ will be credited.

For example:

A new member starts with 1000. He gets more bonus when he becomes Sr investment associate like 2000 e$.

and then if member completes 3 months and minimum number of post (which moderators will decide), he gets another dose of bonus e$.

This way a new member will get the habit of posting in these forum.

I say to keep it as it is. When I first joined, there was talk of spam and trolling, but it seems they were already here before I arrived. Wink Though i don't reply to every thread that gets posted, unless I'm really bored. If the newbies want more money they can post like everyone else. It does not take much to post or add an opinion. I was surprised to see someone else who recently joined, has more posts than me. Though I dont see many of thier posts in the investing fourms, I guess they spend a lot of time in NON-Investing forums racking up the posts and e$.

Anyways, that's me two cents.
