| I've read both his books and watch mad money every once in a while, I think he is pretty objective, and is genuinely out to give solid advice. I have bought and sold several of his reccomendations for a profit including UNH, SHLD, VLCM, AMTD, MO. Now I have gotten lucky on some of these, especially SHLD, but thats where your own research comes in to play. |

What time (and channel) is Mad Money on, and how does one call in? Has anyone here ever called in and actually talked to Cramer ?
I'm thinking about giving the show a ring, what do you think my chances of getting through are? I know there are many Cramer fans on this site, so I figure one of you should have tried before.
And yes, from now on I shall refer to him as " Cramer " |

Mad Money shows at 6 pm est on CNBC, then replays at 9 pm i think...i have actually called in once at the beginning of the show. how it works is generally you call in, leave a message naming your stock in question, your name & phone number, and you get a call back. It was pretty simple for me, i got called back the next day. i called in on a thursday, and was called back on friday around 2 pm. what happens then is the caller asks if you will be available at about 3:45, gives you a phone number and tells you to call back at that time. You are placed on hold for a while, then you go thru a screening and they disclose the legal information for you to accept and proceed with your question after holding even longer. I was on hold for at least 2 hours, but during the holding time someone frequently comes on to let you know that the lightning round is coming up etc etc.
i would do it again, but now i know that i will be on hold for that long its hard for me to dedicate that time if im not at home...not to mention the cell minutes it took up
but i will probably call in again when i have the chance. |

I think it's worth like 1,000,000 e$ if you can somehow mention eInvesting.com and it gets though on the air.
I just like to give people goals.
I'm sure Jim would say, "Oh, THAT SITE...Say hi to GrimReaper for me." |

he definitley has tuned me in to seeing how to make any situation profitable

I think the idea that any situation can be profitable is a huge fallacy which is unfortunately generally accepted. There are ways to minimize loss, but certain situations exist where the money is gone and its not coming back. Remember, if you sell a losing stock and take a capital loss, it does not mean you made money, merely that you lessened your tax bill.
Maybe you mean something else? I'm interested in the idea of always making money, so if you could explain more that would be great. |
im sorry i totally missed your question. When i speak of situation i mean looking at the world and its ups and downs and figuring out how and who would benefit from current events...even if it is because of a loss or misfortune for someone else. if that makes any sense
and by doing your homework im not just talking about looking at the numbers, but also learning as much as you can about a company so that you can make a logical assumption on where they will be headed in the future...like gogeta9118 said, dont take his word for anything except that he does his own research and puts the names out there for you to research yourself. |

| I usually watch his show on 4x with TIVO. If I see a stock mentioned that I am intererested in, I stop to watch it. Usually I watch Cramer for about 5 minutes a day. If I had to watch the whole thing without TIVO, I'd be wasting a good portion of my day on entertainment instead of education. He's fun to watch, but I just don't have time for it. Sometimes I use Cramer's Mad Money show to get my friends or family interested in the market. Right now, they hardly know anything about the market and Cramer makes it fun for them. |

| that's cramer's job. Mad money is sort of like the discovery channel. Gives you info, and presents itself in the form of entertainment. |

She hates him because he is involved with stocks, which she views as intrinsically evil . I like using the phrase "intrinsically evil" around her because the investment corollary "intrinsic value" is completely lost upon her. You can join me in secretly making fun of her if you wish, or you can let her own you like normal . J/K man.
I actually spent some time while I was away watching Mad Money (midnight show), and I think that Cramer isn't all that bad. Beneath the screaming, soundboard emphasis, and jumping around, he actually gives some solid investment advice. Its more for beginners, but I think he reinforces alot of things that even advanced investors can afford to hear again. |

Well considering she is always hanging around us, I would expect as much. The real trick is training her to give you real time quotes. You could also pull a Cramer and marry someone who is much better at investing than you, and live off her skills.
I actually got my girlfriend to watch Wall Street the other day, although I basically sold my soul to do it. I think there are many, many Drew Barrymore movies in my future. She said it "wasn't bad". I think she was lying. |
