I've heard a lot about TD waterhouse, but haven't used them myself.
Perhaps it might be best to direct these questions to the "new investors" area? |

| We have pretty much gotten rid of all our stock, just a tiny amount we have in our Thrifty Savings plan is all the stock we have now. |

|
| Do they have a minimum requirement? Is it by number of stock or by a dollar amount? |

| I like e-trade, they are pretty cheap. I heard scottrade was a pretty good brokerage as well. These online brokers are all pretty much the same, I just went with e-trade because a few of my buddies had an account with them. |

| I personally use ameritrade as my online broker. The good part about them is that if you call them and complain about a large order you put in at an unfair price. They will give you 50 free trades. And lower your commision for future trades. |

| I use scottrade elite... love all the charts and very fast trades. Never had any problems with them. |

| For smaller accounts, Scottrade is the best I have found. $500 to open account and only $7 market AND limit orders. NO inactivity fees, NO transfer in or out fees, NO IRA fees. Check the "fine print" with other brokers, especially the "transfer out" and IRA fees. |

I have also had a good experience with Scottrade. Some might find their website design "dated," but I like it: I could use it from nearly any browser on any OS--even my PDA. The same cannot be said for all brokerages.
Scottrade is great for DIY online investors, but I haven't really used any of their services--I usually know exactly what I want to buy. |
