UPROMISE is a good site to save for a child's college education, you get money back from certain types of groceries you buy, when you use your credit card at certain places, etc.

Check it out.

I have a Upromise account for my girls. It pays a littel amount but I figure since they are small, it will build up over time.

That's about what I have left - 10 years but over the next 10 years that amount in UPROMISE could be some - it's not going to pay all of college but every cent helps.

I agree with the original poster. I have a UPromise account for my daughter as well, but she's 8. I need something that will have us ready for 4 years of tuition, books and living expenses 10-years from now.

I am signed up for UPromise, and have also signed other adults under my kids names (childless adult friends can link their info. to you). However, I am not seeing huge results. We also have an EDVEST account (529 college account) specifically for the kids and have $25/month put into each account.

I signed up for UPromise but think I'll need more. I'm looking at our state's prepaid college fund. But, at least I can save some through the things I buy on the Upromise plan. How long has this been around?

I signed up for Upromise but don't see any real big results. But, I guess that it is better than nothing. i try to buy the McDonalds gift certificates before I buy food there and then apply the certificates to the food and use the code on the certificates, every little bit helps.

Thanks for the reminder of McDonalds. I keep forgetting you can use the codes from gift certificates. I eat there enough with my kids, and I should be doing that!
